Garbo fillets Milan: “Few ideas, a lot of confusion – coach is the last problem”

Italian sports journalist Daniele Garbo has responded extensively to current themes in top football on the Tuttomercatoweb radio station. He spoke about the World Cup, the situation at Roma and Lazio, Milan's choice of coach and the start of a new chapter at Juventus.

Garbo explicitly mentioned one image about the World Cup: the Japanese supporters cleaning the stands afterwards. “That represents a civilization that we do not yet know.” He no longer calls Morocco a surprise: "They reached the semi-finals at the previous World Cup, have quality and play good football. They can take a leading role again."

According to Garbo, Lazio faces a difficult summer with a "zero balance" policy and a disturbed relationship between chairman Lotito and the supporters. "It has come to a standstill and that only has negative effects. The fans are the most important asset of a club." He illustrated this with an anecdote: a friend who did not renew his season ticket for the Olimpico after more than forty years.


On the other side of Rome, according to Garbo, there is a desire to bring in Mason Greenwood under Gian Piero Gasperini. “A player who fits perfectly with Roma; his private matters are behind him.” However, he warns that the club around Paulo Dybala must move on: "His words - that he still has options - cause concern. If Gasperini wants him, that contract must simply be extended."

At Milan, where Ruben Amorim is specifically mentioned for the bench, Garbo is downright critical. "Milan has few ideas and a lot of confusion. I see no strategy and I fear for the fans that it will be a very complicated season." About Rafael Leão: “He may stay because no one wants him.” According to Garbo, the choice of the trainer is “the last problem”; the core of the issue lies in the club management.

Finally, Juventus, where, according to Garbo, the 'Carnevali era' begins. He does not rule out Dušan Vlahović staying. “That is possible, although it depends on the conditions. But he would be the right striker for Spalletti.”
