Bonanni critical of Inter transfer from Palestra: "Fifty million is a huge amount"

Massimo Bonanni, former professional football player and trainer, discussed the recent transfer from Palestra to Inter in the Italian radio broadcast Maracanà. Bonanni said that he thinks the amount of fifty million euros for the young player is on the high side: "Fifty million is an awful lot, especially for a boy who has only made his appearance in the Serie A this season. In Italy, large amounts are currently being asked for the scarce young talents."

Yet Bonanni sees advantages for Palestra, because he ends up at a stable club like Inter. He is expected to succeed Denzel Dumfries on the right flank. Bonanni: "I hope he can prove his talent and commitment, which he has shown so far, also at Inter."


Bonanni also discussed the situation at Milan and Lazio. He calls the internal unrest at Milan worrying, where, in addition to the trainer, the crucial positions of general manager and technical director are currently vacant. "It remains difficult as a trainer to persuade players if the structure is lacking," said Bonanni.

He calls the situation at Lazio even more worrying, especially due to the possible departure of Gattuso as head coach: "No one wants to be in Gattuso's shoes now, especially now that the departure of big names is looming. I am afraid that the club will have to reflect and that even a possible sale is looming if this situation continues."
