The highlight of the trip is the exhibition match against DC United on September 30 at 7:30 PM local time. DC United is trained by René Weiler, former coach of Nürnberg in the 2. Bundesliga. Right back Silvan Hefti, from Switzerland and former player of Hamburger SV, among others, now defends the colors of DC United.
Paderborn chairman Thomas Sagel is enthusiastic: "The training camp in the US in 2022 has given us many positive experiences. We want to once again present ourselves as a club and the Bundesliga in a strong way in the United States. German football still has plenty of opportunities there in terms of international exposure."
