Eintracht boss Hellmann calls for a thorough evaluation of the season
Eintracht chairman Axel Hellmann calls for a thorough evaluation of the past season, which is considered sportingly problematic. He emphasizes the importance of discipline and intensity within the team and announces that there will be personnel changes.

On Wednesday, chairman Axel Hellmann extended his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2031. During an important meeting of the supervisory board, he was given the green light, as expected. "We on the Supervisory Board are very happy and proud that we have been able to bind Axel to Eintracht for another five years. Axel is a crucial person and has fundamentally changed and pushed the architecture of Eintracht Frankfurt forward over the past ten years," emphasized the chairman and Supervisory Board chairman Mathias Beck during the press conference after the meeting. Hellmann had discussions with his colleagues on the main committee of the supervisory board, Sven Janssen and Felix Wirmer, which consisted of three rounds of negotiations, supplemented by several telephone conversations. These conversations mainly concerned substantive matters, less about financial aspects. Hellmann also spoke about growth, business models and infrastructure. During his statement, he indicated: "The supervisory board has said very clearly: we want to accelerate, accelerate, remain competitive and think in terms of growth opportunities. This is a strong promise for the future." Yet Hellmann is aware that, after a turbulent last season, not everything is roses and moonshine. He asks for a "thorough evaluation" of certain topics and adds: "You can regard the season as sportingly precarious. Coach Riera's relationship with the media, environment, staff and players can be regarded as problematic in retrospect. One can make a nice pun with the word problematic. Especially at the end, it was a year with a certain slapstick character, which we no longer want to experience in the board of directors and the supervisory board." The conclusions must primarily be drawn by sports director Markus Krösche. Hellmann announces that further personnel changes will take place. He emphasizes: "We must regain clarity, sharpness, intensity and discipline in the system." According to Hellmann, Eintracht has gone through a sporting crisis, not a business crisis. "When I look at the cooperation between the supervisory board and the board, and within the board itself, we have already experienced other times when things imploded or problems arose that we did not have in this situation," the lawyer concludes and adds: "That is also a value that must be taken into account. There is confidence in the people acting to correct mistakes or change ways." A clear assignment, not least to his colleague Krösche. “We are 100% convinced that Markus will correct course,” emphasizes Hellmann. The appointment of trainer Adi Hütter has already responded to the most important position within the sporting staff. The Austrian must bring back the lost Eintracht DNA. "We have to realize: this stadium cannot function without intensive football. It is not difficult to get the audience enthusiastic. We simply need more momentum in this stadium, with this audience and the opportunities it creates for us." However, Hütter alone will not be able to solve it, he also needs the right player profiles. There are too many players in the selection who avoid duels and focus on their ownnice weather football aiming. Hütter already announced during his presentation earlier this week: "I have achieved with all teams that we bring intensity to the field. We have to start working hard again. That of course also requires the right attitude and players who want to support it. I want to see a team on the field that plays exciting, proactive football."
